In This Corner of the World 2016
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Puts Japanese lives during the war into perspective. Contrasting most american World War 2 films demonizing Japan, this forces us to see how the life of a woman is destroyed from a war which is never explained in the film. The ending shows optimism and hope in the midst of rubble from the atomic bomb blast. This film is extremely important now more than ever as it forces the audience to see the civilians that are forced to endure violence and death due to the actions of their government.
