Never has an almost-3-hour-long movie gone by so fast. The pacing felt perfect and although this movie only shows the first act of the musical and makes this act last an hour longer than the act in the musical, no moment in this film felt drawn out or packed with filler at all. This movie was more of a fever dream than I would’ve anticipated. Many frames in this film are either a beautiful surrealist painting or a captivating liminal space with great music choices and tasteful sound design to accompany them.
