  This movie is all about finding the extraordinary inside the ordinary. It’s so delicate and poetic, and the timing for me to see this type of message couldn’t be better. I dare say that anyone who didn't like it, and probably didn't understand it. 

  And I don’t think this is a movie necessarily about finding happiness in modesty, because I honestly think that Hirayama wasn’t happy all the time, but discovering his journey in a truly contented life and getting to know him through his favorite songs and his family was magical.

  Everyone’s obsessed about her kinks and the violence, yeah, I get it. But for me, the relationship between her and her mother was the cherry on top of the cake. I think Professor Erika felt related to that young pianist, that’s why she was capable of confronting the girl's mother and then mutilating the girl's hand so she wouldn‘t become the same thing she became.
