  I was freaking uncomfortable watching this paedophilic (and predictable) action movie; I was saying: "is it just me or this 12yo Natalie Portman is sexualised, A LOT?"
  Reading of some Besson's "affairs" with little girls brought me the answer.

  Seems like Guadagnino never lived in Italy for a minute: in his world of "culture" everybody speaks French (in Italy!) and the Italian servants of the wealthy cosmopolitans speak dialect. For the director, Italy is a strange and hazy place vaguely full of history, but with no identity at all. For sure, he tries to fill his film with historical references, like Mussolini or Craxi, but creating a pretentious parodying slop of his country.
