  Watched on VHS. Movie opens with a giant CGI Chinese Box closing and the title card appearing, perfectly setting the tone for rest of the film. Jeremy Irons goes to China in search of a Chinese Box only to obtain a strong passionate love with a Chinese woman along the way. Beautiful lost gem that has had me rethinking my life choices and strongly considering leaving this country in search for some oriental love. Would make for a great double feature with M Butterfly.

  No film makes you feel love, loss and friendship more. Cage probably sets some sort of record for the sheer amount he fucks in this movie. His love scenes are among the most powerful in all of cinema. My heart yearns for this film.
