Probably the movie that comes closest to pinning down my style of humor. The bit at the docks with the body outline and bribery scene is the greatest gag I've seen in a hot second.

Slowly losing my shit at the age of <<funny meme joke haha!!>> reviews that inevitably gain thousands of likes on letterboxed. I've written many of my own, but there's a time and place for them...

How can people watch this movie, which excudes simplicity and lightness, and get nothing more than some piddling joke to post? The sheer emotional breadth that Hirayama conveyed simply through smiles and wrinkles blows my mind. Where is the wonder!! Where is the appreciation of beauty!! 10/10 film.

Quite possibly the highest gags per minute out of any movie I've ever seen. Similar to Monty Python in that some of the gags don't work anymore, but i'm sure this movie was absolutely earth-shattering upon release. Also, a 9/11 joke would have gone inconceivably hard.

However, I will say that the automatic pilot being an inflatable is one of the funniest gags I have seen in a while. Every time they referenced it, they added some sort of twist that made it absolutely work. Fantastic stuff

Just beautiful. The simplicity and astounding emotional depth, alongside the extraordinary music makes this such a joy to watch. One of the very few films that completely affect me
