  i'd say the deep "hidden" meaning of this movie is that a strong community is necessary in order for individuals to be valued. perhaps a refutation of hyper-individualism. like the aliens are ready to burn it all down for just one of their own meanwhile the humans have literally created a machine that lets them repeatedly sacrifice unique individuals

  A little better than the first one but a little too hammy.

  Lots of CGI scenes that conveniently look like they could fit into a ride a Universal Studios.

  why tf did they kill Michelle Rodriguez? Doesn't she come back in a later movie?
