I love this film so much, it's my third rewatch and it's just as good to me now as it was when it came out.
The process of creation for this all the way to the end result is pure gold, comedic, inspired, satirical but still genuine, and it pulls off two beautiful tonal shifts with masterful precision, first into a heist movie, then later into suspense/thriller.
the approach is just so fresh compared to traditional filmmaking.

It's so rare for me to enjoy a slow movie, and even when I do, it's in spite of their pace, not because of it. Phantom Thread is the exception to this. I loved every torturously long second of it, the tension, the situational discomfort the characters endure in polite silence while exchanging knowing, judgemental looks... everything about it feels poignant, and as the movie progresses everyone starts to loose composure in moments of intimacy. The relationship, while clearly toxic, is fascinating and entrancing.
    Every shot is visually pristine.

My expectations were high, but this film still surpassed them. The acting was fantastic, the minimum amount of CGI used to convey the invisibility made the whole movie feel richer, and while the themes were emotionally heavy, it still managed to be a horror movie more than a drama. I'm very happy with this new direction the Dark Universe is taking, moving away from making summer blockbusters and instead choosing directors and writers from independent, character driven projects.
