Universal Soldier 1992
Rewatching this film almost proved to be a cursed impossibility due to a scratched disc and other life and death obstacles. I dimly remember viewing this as a teen and being unimpressed by the confused lore of the 'Unisols'. Is Van Damme an alien like in Starman? How is he so impervious to bullets? Why is he so hungry? This time, I threw off the shackles of credulity and simply enjoyed the Roland Emmerich tropes and explosions. I've heard there are sequels, but my appetite has been sated. Much like Van Damme's at the end of the diner scene.
