I only remembered once the movie started, but I watched Rashomon before when I was 14 or so. Back then, it was hard for me to get invested in this film. This time around, I think that I had an easier time picking up on the messaging and analogies, but my attention still wasn't completely captivated throughout.

Harakiri far exceeded my expectations. The story, characters, and plot twists give a lot to consider when paired with the historical context and values presented in the film. I think it's a great commentary on bushido, honor, and loyalty. Great watch.
They should give $1milloon dollars to the kid who played Sebastian
Most of the characters in this movie felt so immature that I couldn't get immersed in anything. The dramatic parts weren't that dramatic, and comedy was this movie's strong suit (but there could have been much more of it). Almost every character was unlikeable (besides the dad), but that was likely intentional. There were parts I liked, and some of the shots were pretty. I liked watching it because I watched it with my friends.
