What a show. What a story. Episode 3 was absolutely stunning - this child grappling between the guilt of a child and the offence of an adult.
With the exception of episode 4, which to me felt too preachy and “teachable moment” towards the end, this was great filmmaking.
I watched this movie when I was away from home, and since them many times, and the scene with the letter breaks me apart every single time. A perfect film that captures guilt of being a daughter away from home, carrying familial responsibilities into a new, free life.
The swimsuit scene at the beach, makes me blush every time. I have since been to many beaches. A man is yet to react to me with similar enthusiasm.
Again, no, absolutely not. An Asian story for the white palate, and throw Jamie Lee Z***ist in there, and a true trainwreck.
