For me, the Coen brothers’ movies have always been hit or miss. Sometimes they’re tightly written with just the right amount of subtlety, like True Grit. Other times, like with Fargo, the humor drags on so much that it loses its impact.

Captain America: Brave New World 2025
While I appreciate Anthony Mackie as both an actor and a character in the MCU, I don’t believe he works well as a leading man. It’s not that he’s doing anything wrong, but his presence just doesn’t have the impact expected of a front-runner. Moreover, the film’s constant reminder that “he’s not Steve Rogers” comes off as an awkward attempt to spin a perceived weakness into a strength.
