The Assistant 2019
In Kitty Green’s directorial debut, she paints a bleak picture / social commentary but the film and the story and the filmmaking like substance. A lot of the movie feels like exposition. There are some nice moments but I’d have to give the movie three out of 10. I wish I hadn’t purchased it. I won’t watch it again.

Where do I even begin, this movie is terrible.
The opening scenes feel disjointed and not part of the overall story. Adam Sandler’s voice is like nails on a chalkboard, his character is depressing but his performance was decent. (He was not snubbed by the Academy, he does not deserve an Oscar).
If anything, this movie does a great job at making you feel uncomfortable and annoyed. I woke up the following morning angry and needed to vent about how bad this movie is.
