The Little Mermaid 2023
Halle Bailey definitely earned this part. She WAS Ariel. I thought the song sequences were well done! However, this one was hard with half of the film being CGI and underwater. There were definitely some misses visually, but overall I was impressed by Bailey’s performance vocally and portrayal of her character. Melissa McCarthy was also impressive as Ursula! They packed in some hilarious one liners and definitely made me laugh out loud a few times. The rest of the cast…

This film was masterfully done. The sound, the usage of black & white scenes to depict the drama of a hearing, the Oscar worthy performances and the cinematography were all there, but still I felt like it was missing something. I’ll be honest in saying I have a huge moral dilemma and struggle with the concept of a film highlighting the creation of a weapon that ended so many lives, but outside of that the movie didn’t make me feel anything.…
