The Substance 2024
Too long and too surface level. What I thought would be an excellent premise to explore sexism and undeserving beauty standards of society became nothing more than a spectacle that presented itself as if the audience were too dumb to understand basic elements. From the very beginning the movie highlighted important details and motifs repeatedly, must’ve been a tribute for all the 5 year olds in the theaters (just in case they didn’t quite get what was going on).
