Third time seeing this and I appreciate it even more now. I just love how it is constantly unsettling. Like shots of electric line and ceiling fans got me tweaking. I feel like a lot of that is also due to the excellent soundtrack. Just constant dread. The scene with David Bowie is particularly unnerving. In fact I really like the whole opening with the investigation into Theresa Banks' murder. Its just an eerie vibe that I really fuck with. Sheryl Lee is so boss in this. Ray Wise also excellent. Everyone is so beautiful in this. My heart yearns for Shelly.

Getting Any? 1994
A disappointing follow up to Sonatine. Kitano is mainly famous for his comedy but it does not really work for me here. The bits I found funny were few and far between. Feels overlong as well as some sequences just meandered on. The last half hour or so is boring which is the worst sin a comedy movie can commit. The bits with the yakuza and samurai is kinda funny and the start of it is decently strong.

Loved this. So captivating. Watching her routine and the slight differences and events that cause it to unravel is so well done. When she forgets to put the lid back on her money pot 🔥🔥. Love what this is saying and the long takes, in particular the when she is outside her flat, are quitely beautiful. The ending shot is amazing. Can really tell Akerman is deeply influenced by Bresson. The son in this is such a pervert. Why is bro talking about his dick being a sword to his mum. That aint a conversation I would be having with my mum.

I mean its just perfect. Everything about it is just fantastic. Gondry really amplifies Kaufman's already boss writing. I adore the dialogue especially some of the conversations had in the latter half of the film. The scene between Joel and Clementine as the house decays around them is an all timer for me. The cast is great and all the acting is top notch. Kirsten Dunst is so beautiful when she is high.
