  Great in-joke about The Revolution playing 1 song sets and then just bouncing

  Sexual politics EXTREMELY dated - Apollonia has the choice between the guy who just negs her and hits her, and the guy who supports her career and wants to party and get drunk with her - but then Morris doesn't sing her I Would Die 4 U, so what are you gonna do

  "Where's my pizza!?"

  Ostensibly a bad film (if you are being mean) but would watch this again a thousand times before watching the new one again! Way more soul, fun, creativity and life.

  Kind of a fiasco, but there is a base level of craft in this - big sets, score, Bob Hoskins & Dennis Hopper! - that's basically lost to time in the corporate tie-in CGI age.

  In the year of our lord 2023, filmmakers are still finding new ways to get multiple characters to take a little peek under the bed!!

  The balance between creepy ghost action and wacky paranormal investigators leans heavily (but not entirely!) towards the former in this one, to the film's benefit. Previous Insidiouses (Insidii?) have tilted a bit too far the other way at times imo.

  Jumpscares abound, but also lots of that delicious dead space before the jumpscare too, is just as much fun, if not moreso...
