Kieran Culkin never disappoints…easily the best part of this entire film. I genuinely enjoyed the hour and 30 minutes, besides every time I saw that hat…(IU). Honestly, that alone knocks off at least half a star (Boiler Up!). The story itself was great, though it often felt like a love story between two brothers, which, in the end, didn’t feel entirely worth my time. While I appreciated the dynamic between the brothers, I couldn’t help but feel this concept had so much more potential.

The Brutalist 2024
A total marathon, but absolutely worth it. Each act carries a completely different tone, with the visuals and colors reflecting that shift beautifully. Even at 3.5 hours, the story had me hooked the entire time, with great writing and pacing that made every moment feel essential. Well worth the time.
P.S. The intermission was neat and definitely needed for a movie of this length. The best part, though, was stepping out to stretch my legs and realizing it perfectly lined up with Wicked in the next theater over—right as “Defying Gravity” was reaching its peak.
