If only! The concept is cool but this movie is just ok… the most interesting stuff is all in the back half (maybe last 1/3?)
The beginning is a slog with clunky exposition about Sarah’s life that ultimately means almost nothing by the time the actual premise kicks in. The movie spends most of its time telling us what’s happening rather than showing it in any meaningful way.
I’d even say everything in the first half was done much better…
An amazing premise which had me hooked even before the “multiples” hijinks began but then started to lose focus as it went on.
The path we took was entertaining, but along the way it brushed past some other concepts that I think were infinitely more interesting. I wish we had dug deeper into the horrors & implications of life as an expendable: endlessly dying and being reprinted and what that does to you psychologically. Doesn’t hit quite as hard as the oldies but still more or less a goodie. It’s mostly just nice to see my plasticine pals back in action :)
This was cute! I usually hate using that word because it can feel belittling to me but I really don’t mean it in that way. I think this is a very sweet & touching, compact, and silly concept movie. And I’m glad it exists!
Not overly groundbreaking & I do think there are better ways to use Natalie Morales… But I also get what it’s going for and I think it does a good job accomplishing the mission it’s aiming to tackle!
