There are six credited "Haxan Mind Slaves" if that gives you an idea of the vibe of the movie. It's offbeat, sweet, a bit funny, and deeply weird. I love how his teacher is dressed all super weird and no one comments on it.
A great little indy occult comedy with a bit of Garth Marenghi-ish 80s goofyness spread throughout.

It's not great, but I've been walking around annoyingly quoting it for 35 years so It's still one of my favorites.
Chappelle is a great storyteller, and when he's passionate about a subject, he's almost impossible to take your eyes off of. His 8:46 special last year was incredible. His anger, his perspective. Hit at exactly the right moment.
But sadly, 'The Closer' really isn't very funny. The jokes are basic and lazy. It feels like a Ricky Gervais special, it's just an hour of a man, wealthy, and out of touch, complaining that the world doesn't understand him.
