Wonderful characterization and cinematography. I mean the shots in this movie are just awesome. Beautiful story with a powerful impact.

But I just generally struggle with foreign language films. That’s a very personal frustration of mine with what otherwise is a great film. For that reason I don’t think it’s fair for me to review this (I rate based on how badly I wanna rewatch something).

    What can I say, I’m a Neanderthal.

But if you do foreign language films, you’d be hard pressed to find many movies in any language better than this.

Why couldn’t Fio just be like 22? No need to make her 17, just made it weird.

Part of me likes the idea of this movie and the concept so much more than the end product. Still an overall good movie though.

An extraordinary movie about the special lives of ordinary people.

I adore this movie. I literally could not stop smiling the entire time. I think it hit me especially hard because the weird quirky small town I grew up in doesn’t exist anymore and is completely unrecognizable. It has exploded in growth and change the past 15 years, as is a part of life. But this is a movie that reminds of what that town was and how special it was to grow up there.

Man, just a special special movie.
