  This movie proves how important execution is. A family film. A robot apocalypse. A father trying to reconnect with his daughter before she heads off to college. It could've been tonally misguided, heavy handed, and utterly forgettable. And yet it's probably one of my favorite animated films in several years. So fun and so GENUINELY funny. Please watch this.

  Gutting. Don't know which hit deeper: the idea of losing a part of yourself that disconnects you from your art or being 10 months into a global pandemic and having to watch the protagonist accept that there is no going back to life before. That this is life now.

  Starkly beautiful in the way it's shot and Riz Ahmed is magnetic. All in all a big bummer. But in the best way possible.
