  Maybe I’m just not Scorsese pilled or maybe I’m not the ideal audience. This film is not “for” indigenous people. I don’t say that vehemently, just earnestly. There was a lot of talking, explaining things we already knew, relitigating them, and it seemed like it was mostly in service of screen time for De Niro and DeCaprio. At its best, it had Wild West genre moments with a touch of indigineity. At its worst, it was boring and a bit self important clocking in at 3.5 hours. I wish Lily Gladstone got a bit more to do.

  Hmmm very interesting. At some points I thought the dialogue was a little off and i didn’t totally vibe with the act markers?? Would like to hear a little bit more about why Campion included those. Beautifully shot, well acted, and an overall strange and compelling story. A good watch, but I’m not sure I’ll revisit this one.
