Another Round can be read as an exploration of humanity’s relationship with alcohol
The movie is thankfully aware of the significance of that relationship. In-between the humour provided by the drunken behaviour of its subjects, the movie riffs thoughtfully upon that theme.

The movie dealt with truth in the justice system, in a way I've never seen explored on screen before.
My impression was the movie deliberately baited the audience into passing judgement on the case, before confusing the audience as to what happened, forcing upon the audience a perspective akin to that of an actual trial lawyer unsure of what it is that actually happened.
