The Last Detail 1973
7/10
Wasn’t as funny as I was hoping it would be, but this was still very good. Jack Nicholson’s performance here would be the standout part for me. This movie was also weirdly relaxing, which I very much enjoyed too. Not much else to say, it was good.Translated from by -

Wow, this movie was incredible. Not saying it’s the most subtle movie ever, but it’s a satire of WWII propaganda films and just general fascism, and I absolutely loved that about it. The film has the cheesiest characters and dialogue that feel like they’re straight from a 90s soap opera, but that’s juxtaposed with horrible violence, and it’s so effective. You watch these vapid characters just become more and more brainwashed as the film goes on. All of this…Translated from by

A History of Violence 2005

David Cronenberg is gonna be coming out with a new film in a few weeks, so I’m starting to play a bit of catch-up on the ones I haven’t seen. This is one I’ve been meaning to watch, but never got around to. I don’t really have much to say about this, but I did really enjoy it. It’s a small movie, and I didn’t really expect that from Cronenberg, based on the other stuff I’ve seen from him. There’s no big concept here, it’s just a guy and his dealings with the mob. Great movie, check it out.Translated from by -

A single day in the lives of three, troubled French youths the day after a big riot in Paris. I honestly don’t know what to say about this, it’s just a masterpiece in every way. It perfectly encapsulates the divide between the police and the citizens in France during this time. Haunting film, you never know what’ll happen next.Translated from by
