  I think this one is mostly thought as as Lynch’s Oscar bait movie. It’s both maudlin and deeply felt. Surprised more filmmakers haven’t ripped off the “Victorian London à la Eraserhead” style because it is a very apt depiction. You could criticise this movie for a lot of things, but I was still moved. Shoot me, I guess.

  I liked this, I think? Much like Narvel I wouldn’t want to have to tell anyone I do though. 
  The standard Schrader plot doesn’t really fit here and the romance is weird but I think despite the fact it’s kind of a nice mood piece.
