remaking south indian movies for bollywood and thinking its going to translate seamlessly is the reason why bolly is in the state it is today.

the mass was just not mass-ing, the bgm score and slow-mo scenes with varun just appeared cringe, and the 89 plot points/shock factors were just tiresome.

truly think varun was misfit for this role, although you could see him earnestly try in some scenes. keerthy was heavily miscast for this role as well (her styling…

never really into anything slb makes tbh because he has this weird fetish for tawaifs and any story revolving around them doesn't interest me, but god…this one is just….plain bad.

some pros: loved the sets, the gorgeous costumes, sonakshi, manisha & taaha shah’s performances. liked that small glimpse of a love story between tajdaar and alam as well.

now the cons: some of the most ??? lazy acting I’ve seen in a while - the alam girlie aka sharmin sehgal probably…

i won’t be as harsh, but 36 china town did it muchhhh better…decades ago.

idk what is up with Sara’s acting, but it’s really annoying…like she has that one tonality throughout. and for an ensemble film, this movie tends to focus a whole lot on only sara-vijay…heck even seeing pankaj tripathi in every frame got me annoyed.

i wont say that i didnt see the murderer coming from a mile away, but it’s heavily obvious for the same reasons pankaj points out.

sad that karishma doesn’t even play a pivotal role like that. and that performers like tisca and dimple are heavily underutilised.
