I’m so happy that this movie was able to come out despite the powers that be over at Warner Bros not wanting to release it. It’s obvious that everyone involved in the production of this movie really cared about it, and put in as much love as possible. It’s a 2D animated movie that’s proud to be a 2D animated movie. Director Tensai Okamura and the entire crew at Studio Bones gave it their all into making this movie, because You’re Next has some of the best visuals in the entire My Hero Academia animated series. Like all of the series’s films, the movie’s story is simple, but retains the franchise’s strong sense of heart, and the characters fans have come to love over the years remain as charming as ever (even with author Kohei Horikoshi’s minimal involvement with the script.)…

Gurren Lagann the Movie: The Lights in the Sky Are Stars takes the amazing second have of the series, condenses it, and supercharges it into overdrive. This anime is incredibly special to me, so seeing it in a theater, with the incredible English dub cast I grew up with from the show, performing the new movie exclusive scenes I only imagined them doing for years was an incredible experience.
