I honestly don’t understand how people consider this a good feminist film. Because a woman directed it?? That’s not the point. The main character is raped and assaulted by both the male love interests and then she has to chose between them and so she has to live/marry her rapist who she happened to fall in love with? It was graphic and romanticized and disappointing and I’m surprised it never got more flack.
