Despicable Me 3 2017
I sat straight-faced in the theater the entire time I was watching this movie. I'm sure the same effect would be emulated if I were to watch the fourth one that just came out this year. Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 contained endearing elements and unique humor (Vector) but Despicable Me 3 tasted like a cupcake injected with seven different artificial flavorings, covered in expired pink frosting. This felt like the epitome of trying and failing to be funny for the sake of cash, and less like the competence of the movie itself was the primary end goal.
