The fact that the Synopsis and the promotional material of this movie (and also other ones like
A Real Pain for example) is carefully hiding its Jewish elements, yet undeniably central to the story, is another sad and ironic reminder of exactly what is pictured in the theme of the film.
Does it look like the distributors are terrified that it will scare people away? Absolutely.
I love practical effects and ridiculous plots and this film has a lot of strange-but-good things that I really enjoyed. The plant’s voice surprised me at first but I think it is actually a very good choice. Also Bill Murray is in this and has a dentist kink???
But some things were just bad and made me uncomfortable, like the way domestic violence is pictured for example. I also didn’t like the two main human characters and SEYMOUR IS SO ANNOYING it…
Toute la scénographie et la LUMIÈRE sont incroyables. Chaque détail participe à créer cette atmosphère sombre et horrifiante, parfois on ne sait pas mieux que les personnages distinguer la réalité du rêve. Pareil pour le jeu d’acteur j’aurais jamais pensé que Lily Rose Depp pouvait être badante comme ça et là ça y est son visage en gros plan là va me hanter encore quelques jours.
Par contre c’est encore une fois la faute de la meuf si le gars…
