  The popular low ratings on this movie are actually asinine. Complaining about the treatment or character arcs of women is flat-out stupid. What do you expect? This is a movie representing the 1930s mafia scene, no fucking shit the women were treated like objects. It was definitely a lot worse than depicted.   Timeless film that represents a golden age of youth culture. Soundtrack is top notch, cast is superb, and solid writing. It obviously has pitfalls but the film is still a realistic portrayal of the era. Dazed and Confused undoubtedly demonstrates the pure righteousness of the 70s. 

  Linklater also provides the birthplace of Ben Affleck, Matthew McConaughey, and many more. Class picture in my book.
