Very grand in scope. I felt a lot of Tarkovsky between Rublev’s Bell-making and Stalker’s weird sand room. But the film tries a little too hard, at least the screenplay, by over-explaining as it goes on. Start late, finish early in stories. It follows the first half of this maxim. But by having an epilogue that leaves us with the weird statement, “it’s the destination, not the journey” it has me thinking, hey, where exactly did we end up?

Where Eagles Dare 1968
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Alpine shots are great… not sure the double agent plot(s) really does it for me though, not enough establishment beforehand.

Bama Rush 2023
A very interesting subject ruined by an overzealous documentarian. No idea why she was intimidated by the Machine when it’s the most fascinating part of the movie. She should have bugged the sorority houses because guess what, that’s your job as a journalist. Otherwise it gets read, well, sororities have both good and bad things. Uh, no, maybe the fact that they tried to silence you, is proof you’re on to something. Sadly, the rest of the process is left untouched. It’s simply a story of some women in preparation for rushing. The lead is buried. Should have been a miniseries.
