“I can't pay no doctor bills.
but Whitey's on the moon
Ten years from now I'll be payin' still
While Whitey's on the moon.
You know, the man jus' upped my rent las' night,
'cause Whitey's on the moon.
No hot water, no toilets, no lights,
but Whitey's on the moon…”
Accidentally finished this a day after the 40th anniversary of it’s release and I must admit the classics are classic for a reason. Freddy was more often funny than scary, but his silhouette coming out of the wall and blood gushing from the bed onto the ceiling after Glen was pulled into it definitely had me squirming.
Also had no clue that Glen was Johnny Depp, but I love that he saw himself in Freddy and decided to later play a man with scissors for hands.
I wasn’t sure of how compelling the movie was going to be when the movie started with Gabor just sitting in a chair to tell his story. However, a combination of very good archival footage and fantastic editing led to a captivating documentary of Gabor Mate’s life. One of the major strength of the film is it’s honestly in how Gabor’s pursuit of career and personal success effected both him and his relationships. Highly suggest seeking out this film.
Well.
I mean....
David Lynch really went for it here. Not sure what he went for, but this was a thinker, and quite the ride folks.
Excited to do some research on this, but it was Interesting to see some of the way his filmmaking style in something like Twin Peaks is prevalent even in his earliest work like this one.
Loved to see his wife and daughter were in the film
We love a family flick
