Judas and the Black Messiah 2021
Everything is done so well. The story, the characters, the emotions are all there.
Hampton is a revolutionary, the movie makes that point clear. But what is not made fully clear is what revolution he speaks of. It muddies his revolutionary ideology to the point where it only makes vague references to the core of his critique. Central to that ideology is the understanding of the inherent, unreformable exploitation in the capitalist system. The movie walks around that point many times but never embraces it.Translated from by -
