Jellyfish Eyes 2013
I went into this with low expectations, but after watching I don’t get the hate. Is the production cheeks? Yes. Is the plot a little convoluted? Absolutely. It was corny but a cute and fun experience. I’ve seen people call it a wannabe Pokémon but that’s genuinely only based on the fact that they are tiny animal-like creatures that a couple kids use to fight. Maybe I’m biased since Murakami is one of my favorite artists, but if this had been given a better budget I think his designs could have shined through much more. Yeah ❤️ Luxor and Kurage-bo we love you

this is my favorite thing i have watched in i don’t know how long. i struggle to find the words, but the visuals were stellar. great pacing, cast and writing. this was like scooby-doo on acid, so so cool. the creative choices like leaving backdrops in view, 4th-wall-break-like pauses, insertion of random animation and the like really made an impact in my opinion. not even sure what else to say wowowowow
