The Brutalist 2024
the first half was maybe the greatest piece of art i have ever seen. the second half was traumatising. the epilogue left me feeling a little thematically confused. i don’t yet know how to feel about this movie but i have truly never watched anything like it; maybe it is flawed or problematic or incredibly beautiful, maybe it is about the trauma of a post war immigrant or maybe about the mania necessary for great art. i don’t know, but i will be damned if it isn’t ingenious!!
