Shaun of the Dead 2004
It’s been years since I’ve watched this movie, and it hits so much differently than it did when I was young. Though still, of course, a parody of all the Romero classics, I thought gave an awesome insight into the mundane grind that middle age can be for a lot of people. Sometimes we get stuck in ruts and it feels like the world has to end for us to get the shock to the system to want to change any of it. What an awesome movie.

Novel experiences can at times be put on a pedestal and revered. Eventually, they can become mundane and reviled for having fallen so far. Made at times, the worse, for the ego for wanting to be special when we can see the reflection of our mundanity staring us in the face daily.
