    3rd time watch

The more I watch this movie, the more I connect with it on a deeper level. Besides its delicate and impactful recreation of the Paiva’s family trauma, its a fantastic depiction of loss and grief that reminds me of my mother’s passing.

Fernanda Torres acting masterclass also keeps getting better. It’s rare to see a perfomance in which the actor BECOMES its character. Torres is so deeply engaged in this role, she loses herself in Eunice Paiva in the most incredible way. I really hope the Academy will recognize this all-time performance by this Brazilian legend.

It’s fun, it’s well-made, but it’s not worthy of all the award buzz it got.

While I get the commentary on social ascension and the American Dream, I don’t think the film gives me enough about the characters for it to effectively resonate with me.

    WE ARE DEFYING GRAVITY!

Wicked is everything fans have been waiting for. It does absolute justice to the stage production.

It beautifully recreates the vibrant excitement the musical exudes, led by amazing performances by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Ariana is a true standout and steals the scene many times. It’s a beautiful translation of theater into cinema. The production design, costumes, visual effects, and makeup are out of this world and creates a whole new universe for audiences to delight themselves in.

And you can just feel it. This film is going to be POPULAR!

If I had a dime for how many times I cringed watching this, I’d honestly be a millionaire.
