combined a lot of my favourite elements of other miyazaki films in such a visually complete way, and as always with the best character design! but the soft world building where questions go anunaswered and the audience isn't meant to know yadayada...the thrill of it has worn off and now i gots to know the backstory of king parakeet and why there were so many flesheating parakeets living in a culturally complex society in the asteroid tower sitting in their backyard. so many birds...an ornithologist's wet dream
