  A low-ish budget creature feature movie that disappoints. Predictable and unoriginal A Quite Place meets a kinda War of the Worlds. Ok set pieces but so many loose ends and little explanation for what is going on and why. Really lazy writing with unsatisfactory conclusions, watch A Quiet Place instead.

  For me everything about this movie is hit and miss. Roddy McDowall is fabulous and should have his own show/film. William Ragsdale as Charlay is not so likeable this time around, which is a shame. The high humour doesn’t work for me and it’s all a little silly as there are just too many vampires foes to deal with. All the charm, fabulous characterisation and tight script of the original is missing here. Practical effects are great to just plain awful. There’s just not much tension and a bit of a struggle to get through.

  Doctor Who: Pyramids of Mars 1975

  Possibly the best and perfectly produced example of a Doctor Who story. The blend between sci-fi, horror and a degree of Egyptian mythology is perfect. Highly atmospheric outstanding four part story, highly recommend a mesmerising watch.
