Strong start, lousy middle, weak ending
After reading quite good reviews I was on fire to see another top notch Hawke performance - and got disappointed
So a killer is drivin around in a small town, fetching children and killing them. The protagonist boy gets snatched and phones with dead people to get out. Sounds promising. Oh well ...
The good: strong performance of the kids. Nice camerawork. Good soundtrack. 2-3 thrilling moments.
The bad: the killer is only intimitading…
For your own sake, don't watch that movie.
Even writing about this movie seems like a waste of time. Accordingly, I'll keep this short:
The music is unbearably autotuned and forgettable
Everybody forgot to act
The costumes scream Walmart
The storyline is utter nonsense
The CGI ... Oh god the CGI
Just do yourself a favour and watch every Neil Breen movie instead of this one. You will lose some part of your brain along the way, but it's less painful

To start with an important information: I never read the books. So this is a movie based review only
The strongest parts at first. Hans Zimmer wrote an amazing score. The bass effects are often times felt through all your bones. It also underlines the scenery of the planet masterfully.

At times, the style and pacing is quite good. These few moments are crushed however with the help of highly illogical actions, stupid decisions and horrendous dialogues
The animated dogs are not needed, the cgi used was of the lowest quality and you just sit there and ask yourself "whats the point? Its not even funny".
