    “Is anyone out there!?!
    We’re alive!”

A call for help from the characters in the film for rescue, and a call to the audience to not forget those we owe our lives to.

This film has a lot to remind us of: the resilience of past generations (we’re the stock of people who didn’t quit), the perseverance you need to have grace as you age, and the joy that can be found from those who fight for it.

I love you and I miss you, Grandma.

If you need to feel something today, this’ll do it.

This doc connects you to these kids in seconds. It does an excellent job of showing how fulfilling, and gut-wrenching, it can be to be apart of a child’s life.

Anyone looking for a heartwarming documentary, "Instruments of a Beating Heart" is only 20 min long, and it's free on YouTube. I recommend it especially if you're a teacher, or someone with a passion for working with kids. I was completely moved.

This trivia from IMDB absolutely blew me away

“After completing the original cut of the film, director Carl Theodor Dreyer learned that the entire master print had been destroyed accidentally. With no ability to reshoot, Dreyer re-edited the entire film from footage he had originally rejected.”

If they make it or not at the end doesn’t matter. What matters is that they are not allowing their spirits to be crushed by circumstance like all of those around them are.
