  Context: I am a cradle Catholic who admires the direction of the current current church guided by Pope Francis, unlike many converts and tradcaths. I believe progressive values to be a natural consequence of living in a way that brings honor and pleasure to Christ.

  Parasite 2019

  ★★★★ Added

  I watched this as a double feature with The Joker. This movie, unlike The Joker or Snowpiercer, respects the intelligence of its audience. Laugh at me, but I think this is a nuanced film about classism that I can get behind. The marginalized main cast isn't literally on the caboose of a train, are fed bug protein bars, or start a civil uprising because "You Wouldn't Get It." It's a family of grifters trying to survive, and you know they are not the heroes.

  Blade Runner 2049 2017

  A worthy successor to one of my favorite movies. I think BR2049 is really good, despite my slight preference for the original. However, I find it just that: really good. I don't see this as a landmark piece of media like many others, but it still rocks.
