If you don't play the game, it feels a lot like an inside joke, which it pretty much is. But if you do play the game, it's the best inside joke ever told. For a high-budget family friendly movie, it's super emotional and well executed. It's legitimately funny and fun in nature, despite the dialogue being a little on the corny side. Overall, super well executed and definitely holds up on rewatch.
Suptitled version is phenomenal. Effictive comedy as well as just a great heartwarming story. I also just love foreign films so I'm a little biased. I'm also a metalhead so I'm biased there too. But if you like comedies about friendship and heavy metal, it's one of the best ever.
Not the best film ever made, but by far not the worst. Everyone most likely has their reservations about Mel Gibson, as do I, but I think this is a very decent film. If you disregard the blatant historical inaccuracies and the cheesy expressions of the actors, it tells a powerful story to the extent that it solidifies William Wallace as a cultural legend, as he should be remembered.
