Gardens of Stone 1987
Great cast (Caan and Jones are superb) and the story was good if a little obvious but timeline is kind of jarring. I wonder if there were whole scenes left on the cutting room floor that would have made this a more fluid film.

Mixed feelings; on the one hand it is rightfully regarded as a classic due to its surgical insightfulness both then about TV and again now, 50 years later, about social media. On the other hand it's cold and unfeeling with no chemistry between Holden and Dunaway. It is both exciting, frantic and fast paced then interminably slow and painfully dull with long drawn out discussions of audience shares, points, ratings, and technical jargon.
