The lack of score made the silent moments in the movie have more tension. There are only certain movies where a lack of score works and this is definitely one of them. The acting was superb with Anton Chigurh being one of the best movie villains of all time due to his strict code he always follows. The ending is chilling with Chigurh escaping perhaps meaning that there will always be darkness in the world because of people like Chigurh.

The acting was great especially because the characters were so well written and their past is perfectly revealed always at the right moment. The set was beautiful and was put on full display due to Wes Andersons unique camerawork.

Forget-able characters and a creature that begins to pick them off one by one leads to a movie full of little drama in my opinion. There is suspense, but when the people die I hardly care because there is little reason to. The Thing ends with R.J. Macready and Childs dying out in the cold and I'm left thinking so what.

Maybe I just don't like samurai movies but this was not something I enjoyed. Everything seemed to be comic relief. My favorite part of the story was the husband wife and kid which last for maybe 15-20 minuets. I have to give stars for the music and the cinematography was not bad, just didn't seem terrible different from what being done at that time. The final fight scene was anticlimactic and the one guy with the gun had like three death scenes. It seemed like they didn't know which one to choose so they just used all.
