Heretic 2024
Actually pretty fascinating choice to go with Mormonism as the religion of the main characters here. Definitely plays on the power discrepancies between male ‘elders’ and young women within the religion and examines how that conditions our main characters and does allow Hugh Grant to be the schemer he is. Love his sweater, but not his vibes.

Why does everyone hate on this movie? I know it’s not perfect all the way through with the pacing getting a little weird and the heart of the story getting away from chazelle at points, but there’s so many pockets of beautiful greatness tucked in as well.
