First watch!! phenomenal movie, the allegory works for so many aspects of the human experience I love it. Obviously incredible trans allegory as well. I liked the duel-type action sequences with the blur effect, I was a little bored by the color scheme and some of the bigger action scenes were a bit too visually busy for me to follow. I didn’t really feel super emotionally connected to the characters but I fuckin loved watching em boo bop around. I really enjoy all the conversational fodder baked into this movie.

Such a nostalgia watch for me. Some parts fell a little flat for me on this one but I still love this movie so much Marla and Nelson 4 lyfe

So so so well done. The moments of awkwardness and subtle sparks of incidental intimacy as they get to know each other contributed to one of the realest portrayals of romance I’ve ever seen on screen. Such a perfect build, the emotionality felt spot on, the Nonverbal Communication, the acting and chemistry, all so so good.

Fantastic, the pacing was just so fascinating in that even when intense stuff happened the energy felt consistently moderate throughout. It’s a phenomenal DID representation. The songs maintained interest because they didn’t drag on forever, and they were narratively really interesting. Joaquin Phoenix is a phenomenal actor. Just psychologically a really interesting watch. You can see how his lawyers and psych professionals are just as exploitative of him as the prison system and guards, in their own way.
