  The Shawshank Redemption 1994

  This film holds such a special place in my heart.

  It is the first film I ever watched as a kid that I genuinely recognised as a masterpiece and I have named it as my favourite film ever since.

  This is the first time I’ve ever rewatched since that time as a kid as I was always worried that I wouldn’t like it as much as I did back then but turns out that was a stupid thing to worry about because this film is genuinely perfect.

  Still the greatest film of all time.

  This film kinda just fizzles out at the end after being so interesting for the first 1.5hrs.. still, really loved Cruise and Kidman in this.

  I don’t think I’ve appreciated this film as much as I should have until this watch. Might have Skyfall beaten for my favourite but I shall be watching Skyfall again this week to work that out. 10/10.
